Once your retirement is processed, your first pension payment depends on various factors and can take up to 90 days to be disbursed. To minimize processing times, we recommend contacting PMRS six months before you plan to retire so that we can work with you to accurately calculate your benefits, ensure necessary paperwork is submitted correctly, and answer any questions.

Retirement benefits are paid at the end of the month. Checks are mailed by the last business day of the month. Direct deposits are made on the last business day of the month.

Retired members may sign up for direct deposit at any time by completing and sending the Direct Deposit of Annuity Payments (PMRB-28) to PMRS.
